{BFIAR} The Runaway Bunny

The last few weeks have been very very busy in our household!  We were preparing and then celebrating Daddy’s homecoming from an 8 month deployment.  We are so happy to have him home and have been enjoying our family time!  Just a brief overview of our weeks with the book The Runaway Bunny.

The book chronicles a little bunny who tries to run away from his mother by turning into various things like a fish, rock, and flower.  In turn, the mother bunny turns into a fisherman, rock climber, and gardener to get to her baby bunny.  We talked about how God’s love also will find us wherever we go, no matter what.  Despite us sometimes trying to change or hide, His love will always be with us.

We went ‘fishing’ with a puzzle given to the kids by Grandma Dianne.

And we ate ‘Runaway Bunny’ snacks. We also munched on carrots with our lunches!

And had snuggle time with our bunnies while we read bunny books:

We made bunny masks as our craft:

And we also made flowers (“If you become a crocus in the garden, I will become a gardener…”)

It is so very hot here, but luckily we have great friends to help keep cool with! The kids have had a great summer!

And of course we are thrilled Daddy is home!!
